Worry-free winters for Waterloo Region homeowners.
Founded in 2023 by Devon Moore and David Fitzpatrick, D&D Snow Services was built around one principle: when winter hits, we're already there. Three full seasons. 75+ active contracts. A 2-hour recovery promise no other local crew will put in writing.

We started this because we were frustrated too.
It was the winter of 2022 when Devon Moore and David Fitzpatrick hit their breaking point. Devon was managing a residential property in Kitchener and had hired a well-reviewed local contractor for the season. The first major storm rolled in mid-November. By 8 AM the driveway hadn't been touched. By 9 AM Devon's tenant had called three times. By 10 AM Devon was out there with a shovel himself, furious — and determined to find a better way.
The problem wasn't a shortage of snow removal companies in Waterloo Region. It was a shortage of reliable ones. Most operated without systems — no route planning, no weather monitoring, no accountability when a visit was missed. Clients were left guessing. Property managers were left fielding complaints. Every winter the same cycle repeated: hire someone promising, get disappointed, scramble.
D&D Snow Services launched in fall 2023 with one principle: show up, every single time. We built the operation around route optimization, pre-season weather monitoring, auto-dispatch protocols, and a simple promise — if we're contracted, your property is cleared before you need to use it. That principle has driven our growth from a handful of Kitchener driveways to 75+ active residential and commercial contracts across Waterloo Region. Every five-star review we've received says the same thing: they finally found a company they can count on.
A note from Devon.
I started D&D Snow because I'd lived through the alternative. I know what it feels like to refresh your phone at 6 AM hoping someone shows up before your tenants leave for work. I know the texts you send a contractor at 8 AM that get ignored until noon. That experience built this company.
Every route we run is one I've personally mapped. Every dispatch trigger threshold is one I've personally set. When a storm rolls in at 2 AM, I'm the one setting the alarm — because the only way to keep the promises we make is to be the person responsible for keeping them. After three seasons and 75+ active contracts, our on-time rate has never dropped below 98%.
If we sign your contract, you have my word: your property is cleared before you need to use it.
— DevonTwo founders, every storm.
D&D Snow Services is a two-founder company. Devon and David handle every part of the operation personally — from route planning to client communication to storm-day dispatch — backed by the broader D&D Network for adjacent trades work.
Route planning, dispatch, equipment readiness, storm-day operations. Holds a full commercial vehicle licence and personally manages every route across the season.
Contract onboarding, client communication, mid-season account reviews. Four years prior in property management gave him a deep read on what commercial clients actually need.
Heated wire and snow guard installs are coordinated with our ESA-authorized network electricians and roofers from the broader D&D family of companies.

Four values, every dispatch decision.
Reliability above all
We built this company because the industry was unreliable. That's the one thing we'll never be. If we miss a visit, we're back within two hours — and you'll know before you ask.
Safety first
An icy walkway is a liability. A slippery lot is a lawsuit. We carry full WSIB coverage and $2M general liability on every job — and we don't make judgment calls on safety.
Thoroughness
A driveway with two inches still packed at the end isn't cleared. A walkway that missed the front step isn't done. We don't call a job finished until every contracted square foot is safe.
Proactive communication
You shouldn't have to text us to find out if we came. Storm incoming? You'll know our dispatch plan. Service done? You get a confirmation. Surprise? We call before you find out the hard way.
From first call to season debrief.
Our seasonal contract process is built around the storm calendar — not the construction calendar. Here's how the relationship runs from first quote to spring close-out.
-
1
Property consult & quote
David walks the site, measures the route, and confirms accumulation triggers and service windows. Same-day quote on most residential properties; 48 hours on commercial.
-
2
Seasonal contract signed
Flat-rate seasonal pricing locked — no per-storm billing surprises. Trigger thresholds (e.g. 2cm salting, 5cm plowing) and service windows written into the contract before October 31.
-
3
Pre-season prep (October)
Route is added to the dispatch system, equipment serviced, salt stocked. You receive a dry-run confirmation text before the first forecast event.
-
4
24/7 storm dispatch (Nov–Apr)
Auto-dispatch triggers based on overnight accumulation. Devon supervises every storm in real time. SMS confirmation when crews are en route, and again on completion.
-
5
Season debrief & renewal
April wrap-up call — what worked, what to adjust. Existing clients get first right of renewal each August before new-client pricing applies.
Three seasons, in figures.
Safe properties, safe neighbours.
D&D Snow Services believes snow clearance is a community service, not just a transaction. Each winter we provide complimentary sidewalk salting and pathway clearing for two senior community centres in Waterloo Region, ensuring elderly residents can safely access services during storm events.
We also coordinate with local fire stations to clear apparatus bay aprons and emergency access routes near our contracted zones after every major snowfall — because some clearances can't wait. Our team participates in regional emergency-preparedness sessions to help coordinate response in the event of a major winter-storm declaration.
One family of property-care companies.
D&D Snow Services is part of the D&D Network — six sister companies covering the full property-care lifecycle. Snow contracts often pair with our exterior, interior, and commercial teams for year-round coverage under one point of contact.
