Commercial Snow Management
Commercial snow removal contracts are priced several ways: per-push (each visit), seasonal flat rate, or per-inch. Each model has advantages depending on your property size, storm frequency, and budget approach.
Per-push pricing means you pay each time the contractor visits. This model works well in mild winters but can be expensive in heavy snow years. It gives contractors less incentive to mobilize quickly.
Liability and Safety
Seasonal flat-rate contracts transfer weather risk to the contractor. You pay a fixed amount regardless of storms. Contractors price this model based on historical snowfall averages plus a buffer — in mild years you overpay; in heavy years you save.
Per-inch pricing charges based on measured snowfall. This model can be precise but requires clear measurement protocols and weather station selection to avoid disputes.
Reliable Winter Services
Pricing factors include property size, paved surface type, number of obstacles, required response time, service scope (sidewalks, salting, hauling), and proximity to the contractor's home base.
Watch for hidden costs: snow hauling is often quoted separately. If your site has nowhere to stack snow, hauling costs can add significantly to your winter budget.
Get quotes in writing with detailed scope. Comparing prices without comparing scope is meaningless — a cheaper quote may exclude salting, sidewalks, or emergency service calls.
